Welcome to the Ewelme Benefice
Serving the parishes of Dursley; the churches of St James the Great and St Mark’s, and Uley with Owlpen and Nympsfield; the churches of St Giles, Holy Cross and St Bartholomew’s
The Ewelme Benefice was inaugurated in June 2018 and takes its name from the River Ewelme which runs through the two parishes, symbolically linking them.
Coronavirus - COVID19
On 17th March the Archbishops of Canterbury and York took the unprecedented step of suspending all public services and activities in the Church of England. As of 24th March, the Prime Minister has said that all places of worship will be closed and there will be no Church weddings or baptisms (christenings). Funerals will be conducted at the graveside or at the Crematorium, and subject to Government guidance.
The website will be updated as new information is available. The Benefice Office is now closed but the Administrator can be contacted for further information by email at ewelmeparishoffice@gmail - there is no phone number at present. For urgent calls, please phone one of the clergy (but not Canon Michael for the time being) details on our Contact Us page. All the latest information, with other material, can be found on our Coronavirus page. You can follow us on Facebook
As members of the Ewelme Benefice, we will work together to share in the Diocese of Gloucester’s LIFE Vision. ‘I have come that they may have life and have it to the full’ John 10:10.
On the right you will see our Calendar for the coming week: below is a Daily Message (a passage from the Bible) and our 'Stop Press' section for urgent messages and important upcoming events..
We hope that you will join us at one of our services or other events. Please do get in touch if you want any further information.
